summer cold
I was writing to my friend, chief bluebone about my summer cold.
Well, “emailing” him.
He wrote back that he’d had “2 chest colds & 2 bouts of stomach bugs in 3 weeks. I’m feeling better today.” Then he included one of those smiley things that people do on the internet at the end of the letter.
:o)
I wrote back to him about summer colds, that…
“Summer colds are the worst.”
Then upon reflection I added this…
“Well, they are right up there. Having your house burned down, losing everything you own and having the neighbors laugh at you while you are outside crying and in your underpants would probably top it. ”
But as I sit here, with only ten minutes left on my Library internet time, I still can’t but seem to think that summer colds top even that.
(cough, cough)
Blake wants me to try soup.
Maybe I’ll go find a restaurant that serves soup and drag my sleeping bag and overnight bag in there and hope that they don’t invoke their right to refuse service to me.
Life can be easier on some days than on others.
